Paterson resident promoted to vice president at Kearny Bank

A Patersonian has been promoted to vice president/SBA (Small Business Administration) closing manager at Kearny Bank.

Melissa Parrilla is now in charge of managing all aspects of the Fairfield-based bank’s SBA loan closing and post-closing department.

“Melissa has demonstrated a consistent ability to identify solutions within our SBA loans group and we’re pleased to expand her role,” Robert Kim, 1st vice president / SBA operations manager, at Kearny Bank, said. “As an example, her recent accomplishments have included creation of a department procedure manual, streamlining various procedures through digitization of portfolios, and development of an enhanced closing process for Paycheck Protection Program [PPP] loans.”

Parrilla joined the bank in 2018. Her last title was assistant vice president/SBA loan closer. She has expert-level training on Fiserv’s DNA corporate banking solution and the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL).

Parrilla’s promotion comes at a time Kearny Bank, founded in 1884, is expanding its footprint in New Jersey and New York City.
