Paterson: 16-year-old wounded in Mercer Street shooting

A teenager was wounded while walking on Mercer Street on Sunday night, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The victim, 16-year-old, was struck by gunfire at around 9:19 p.m. He arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.

Police said the victim was struck by gunfire while walking on Mercer and Keen streets when multiple actors began shooting.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Paterson Police Ceasefire Unit at 973-321-1342.
