A Paterson man caught with a gun in a green bag in Jersey City has pleaded guilty, according to federal authorities.
Harold Mickens, 56-year-old, pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon before a judge in Newark federal court on Wednesday.
Mickens was arrested on December 8, 2019. Police in Jersey City received a tip that he was standing next to a blue Cadillac Escalade on Ocean Avenue in Jersey City holding a gun in a green plastic bag.
Police searched the green bag and seized a Rossi .357 revolver loaded with six rounds of ammunition.
Mickens was previously convicted in Hudson County court on drug charges.
Mickens faces maximum of 10 years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 16, 2022.
