Two Paterson residents hurt in East 19th Street shooting


A man and a woman were wounded in a shooting on East 19th Street late Friday afternoon, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The victims, a 28-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, both of Paterson, were struck by gunfire on East 19th Street and 8th Avenue at around 4:27 p.m.

Police said the victims were in the area when several suspects began shooting, striking them. Both sustained non-fatal gunshot injuries and were taken to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.

Police continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Paterson Police Ceasefire Unit at 973-321-1342.
