Mayor Andre Sayegh has issued an executive order requiring employees and visitors at City-owned buildings to wear masks beginning on Tuesday.

Sayegh’s decision comes after Paterson began to see a surge of Covid-19 cases. Paterson has seen more than 300 daily positive cases over the past week.

“This means that all employees, regardless of vaccination status, must wear masks at all times when indoors,” read an announcement from the Sayegh administration to municipal employees.

The announcement states the mask mandate is effective beginning today.
