A Paterson police officer shot and killed an armed suspect on East Main Street on Wednesday night, according to officials.

Officials said the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office is investigating the police-involved shooting.

No details have been released about the incident.

The incident happened on East Main and Hillman streets at around 9 p.m. The man allegedly fired at the officer before the officer fired, killing him.
