The police pulled over a vehicle in Paterson on Wednesday night that was stolen out of Clifton, arresting three suspects and seizing two guns, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.
Kahaz Heron, 18, of Clifton; Jahed Jones, 19, of Paterson; and Jaquin Williams, of Paterson, were charged with possession of stolen vehicle and weapons offenses. All three were inside a stolen 2019 Toyota Corolla.
Williams was the driver of the vehicle while Heron and Jones were passengers.
Police observed the vehicle on Bridge Street and Memorial Drive at around 10:25 p.m. Police had received information the vehicle was stolen the day before out of Clifton.
Police positioned their unmarked vehicle. Then they approached the stolen vehicle. They removed the driver and the passengers. They then recovered a Smith & Wesson .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol and a HK .22 caliber semi-automatic firearm containing high-capacity magazine.
Heron, Jones, and Williams were processed and are being held at the Passaic County Jail.
