Paterson police seize 2,000 packets of heroin in Madison Avenue raid

The police raided the apartment of an alleged drug dealer seizing thousands of packets of heroin, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.

Justin Velez, 23, of Paterson, was arrested on Thursday evening. Police had a search warrant and were conducting surveillance outside his apartment at around 6:25 p.m.

Velez exited 820 Madison Avenue and was placed under arrest. He had 100 packets of heroin.

Police then searched his second floor apartment. Inside his bedroom were an assortment of drugs. Police seized 2,162 glassines of heroin, 69 Oxycodone pills, 39 Xanax pills, 59 Percocet pills, 2 bags of cocaine weighing five grams, and $1,139 in suspected drug money.

Police also seized a Keltec .380 handgun loaded with 6 rounds, 4 hollow point bullets and 2 ballpoint rounds.

Velez was charged with numerous drugs and weapons offenses. He is being held at the Passaic County Jail.

    we must understand the oppressions and discrimination this poor soul had to go thorough that left him no choice then to sell drugs. Section 8, food stamps and free healthcare ate not enough to buy newest nike's . deport his dumbass wherever he or his parents came from. They should have done better job
