The police arrested a man, seizing 1,000 glassine envelopes of heroin and a semi-automatic handgun, on Friday, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.
Omarion Corporan, 19, was charged with seven weapons and drug offenses. Police observed him in a blue Nissan Sentra with Florida registration on East 28th Street between 22nd and 23rd avenues.
Corporan was allegedly seen purchasing drugs from another vehicle, a white sedan. His vehicle was followed and pulled over on Alabama Avenue and East 36th Street.
Police seized 1,000 packets of heroin, a Ruger LC9 semi-automatic handgun, and 50 rounds of ammunition. Heroin seized was in the forms of 20 bricks, authorities said.
Detectives could not locate the suspected drug dealer that sold to Corporan.
