A man has pleaded guilty in federal court on Thursday for engaging minors in sexually explicit conversations on web and asking one to take and send him sexually explicit pictures of themselves, according to U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger’s office.
Jose Minaya, 27-year-old, of Paterson, pleaded guilty to production of child pornography and online enticement.
Authorities said Minaya engaged two minors.
First incident happened in July 2019 in Passaic County. He wanted the child to produce “a visual depiction” and transmit “a live visual depiction” of explicit sexual content, according to court documents.
Second incident happened on January 25, 2020 in Middlesex County. He tried to persuade the second minor over the internet to engage in sexual activity.
Authorities seized seven phones and multiple personal computers as part of their investigation. The equipment were allegedly used in the crimes.
