Two men injured in back-to-back Paterson shootings

Two men were shot — one remains in critical condition at a hospital — in separate incidents in Paterson on Friday night.

The first shooting occurred at around 10:42 p.m. in the area of East 23rd Street and 4th Avenue, where the Paterson Police Department responded to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found a 30-year-old male Paterson resident suffering from non-fatal gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.

Less than an hour later, at approximately 11:32 p.m., the Paterson Police Department responded to another report of a shooting in the area of Main Street and Ward Street. They found a 40-year-old male Paterson resident suffering from multiple non-fatal gunshot wounds. The victim was immediately transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
