Authorities said on April 8, 2023, at approximately 7:33 a.m., police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Park Avenue and Carroll Street. Upon arrival, a potential crime scene was located, but no victim was found. However, later on, Alcantara arrived at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center via a private vehicle, seeking treatment for non-fatal gunshot wounds.

Romero was arrested by the police on April 11, 2023, in Paterson at approximately 5:00 p.m. near the area of Park Avenue and Carroll Street.

Alcantara, Santana, and Romero could face decades in prison if convicted on the charges.
