1 dead, 2 wounded in Paterson shooting on River Street

Three men were shot, one fatally, early Sunday morning on River Street, according to authorities.

At approximately 2:25 a.m., the police responded to a shooting incident in the vicinity of River Street and East 13th Street.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered a single victim, identified as a 22-year-old male resident of Paterson, suffering from gunshot wounds. Tragically, despite efforts to save his life, the victim succumbed to his injuries. He was subsequently pronounced dead at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center.

In addition to the deceased victim, two more individuals arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center seeking medical assistance for gunshot wounds. The victims were identified as a 24-year-old male and a 33-year-old male, both residents of Paterson.

The investigation into this shooting is currently active and ongoing.

Further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting have not been disclosed at this time. Police urges anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation by calling the Detective Bureau at 973-321-1120.
