A man has been sentenced to 14 years in New Jersey State Prison for sexually abusing a child.
James Jackson, Jr., 39, of Paterson, was sentenced on Friday. He had pleaded guilty to two counts of endangering the welfare of a child on February 13, 2023.
Police initiated an investigation into Jackson’s conduct on April 6, 2021, after receiving a report that he had sexually abused a 16-year-old. The victim, who was younger during the abuse, stated being abused by Jackson on numerous occasions at residences in Paterson between September 2012 and September 2015.
Jackson was arrested on April 15, 2021.
Jackson must register as a sex offender upon release and will be subject to parole supervision for life.
