A 23-year-old city man was shot and wounded early Sunday morning, police said.

The victim, who has not been identified, arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center at about 6:16 a.m. with a non-fatal gunshot wound. He is in stable condition.

Based on a preliminary investigation, police believe the shooting took place in the area of Market Street and Madison Street in Paterson.
