Paterson man was allegedly dealing drugs out of Main Street bar, authorities say

Arista-and-Santiago

Information that a man was dealing drugs out of a Main Street bar led to two arrests and seizure of heroin and cocaine, according to Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik.

Julio C. Arista, 63, and Nelson Santiago, 59, both of Paterson, were arrested on Thursday. Arista was charged with four drug offenses, including possession and distribution of cocaine. Santiago (right) was charged with heroin possession.

Detectives developed information that Arista (left) was distributing cocaine from within Quilvio’s Bar & Liquors at 933 Main Street. They raided his basement apartment at 235 Keen Street, his vehicle, and Quilvio’s Bar & Liquors, authorities said.

Authorities seized half ounce of cocaine (street value of $1,000) and $637 cash in the raids. They also seized 10 folds of heroin from Santiago.

Arista is being held at the Passaic County Jail while Santiago was charged and released.
