A shooting occurred on Sunday at around 9:22 p.m. near the intersection of Van Houten Street and Cianci Street, leaving a woman critically injured.

Upon hearing the gunshots, a nearby Paterson Police Officer immediately called for backup. Responding units soon located the victim, Mary Taylor, 22, of Paterson, who had sustained a gunshot wound.

Taylor was swiftly transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center where she remains in critical condition.
