A 22-year-old Paterson woman who was fatally shot late Sunday evening near the intersection of Van Houten Street and Cianci Street has died, authorities said on Monday evening.

At approximately 9:22 p.m. on Sunday, a Paterson Police Officer reported hearing several gunshots in the area. Additional patrol units swiftly responded to the scene, where they found the victim, identified as Mary Taylor of Paterson, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Taylor was immediately transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. Tragically, she was pronounced dead earlier today.
