A New York City police officer has been arrested on domestic violence charges, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Hariton Marachilian was arrested on December 1 and charged with two counts of second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree criminal coercion, and third-degree criminal restraint.
This was in connection with a domestic violence incident that occurred in Paterson, authorities said.
Marachilian allegedly kidnapped and assaulted a woman causing her serious injuries.
Authorities said he faces decades in prison if convicted on the charges.
