A 16-year-old was hospitalized following a shooting in Paterson, authorities reported.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:56 p.m. on Monday, near Hamilton and Godwin avenues. Members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the scene after receiving reports of the shooting.

Upon arrival, police were informed that the victim, a 16-year-old juvenile, had already been transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson by a private vehicle. The victim is receiving treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.
