A 21-year-old city man sought treatment for non-fatal gunshot wounds at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center on Monday night, prompting an investigation by authorities.

The incident was initially reported around 8:10 p.m. when police were dispatched to the intersection of Madison Avenue and Market Street after receiving reports of gunfire. However, officers did not locate any victims or a crime scene upon their arrival.

The investigation took a turn when the injured man arrived at the hospital, leading police to identify a potential scene of the shooting at 17th Avenue and Market Street. The Paterson Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances that led to the incident, with efforts underway to gather evidence and information.
