Paterson man charged with attempted murder for East Railway Avenue stabbing

A man was arrested early Saturday morning in connection with a stabbing incident in Paterson, authorities said. The arrest followed a police response to a reported stabbing on East Railway Avenue.

Anmar Oudah, 35, of Paterson, is facing charges including attempted murder in the first degree, unlawful possession of a weapon in the second degree, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in the second degree. The charges stem from an incident that occurred around 5:00 a.m. on Sunday.

Police were called to the scene after receiving reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they found a 30-year-old Paterson man suffering from a non-fatal stab wound. The victim was quickly transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson for treatment.

The investigation into the incident led authorities to identify Oudah as the suspect. He was apprehended by police at approximately 6 a.m. following the investigative efforts.
