A 20-year-old man was shot early Thursday near Pennington and Market streets, prompting a police response at approximately 1:18 a.m.

The victim, a Paterson resident, arrived at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center via private vehicle for treatment of a non-fatal gunshot wound, police said.

Officers located a potential crime scene in the area and are continuing their investigation.
