Two people were killed and two others critically injured after a vehicle crashed into a pole early Sunday morning in Paterson.

The accident occurred around 4:05 a.m. in the area of 18th Avenue and Route 20 South. A vehicle carrying four occupants collided with a pole, according to authorities.

Two passengers were pronounced dead at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center. The driver of the vehicle and another passenger remain in critical condition.

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. The investigation is ongoing.
