A Haledon man was wounded during the evening hours of Tuesday at the intersection of Hamilton Avenue and Carroll Street, according to the Paterson Police Department.
The victim, 20-year-old, was in the Hamilton Avenue and Carroll Street area at around 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday when he was involved in an altercation. As he was fleeing, police said, he was shot in the upper torso.
“As the victim fled, he was struck once, and continued running until he reached the Broadway area,” said Patrick Murray, head of the Ceasefire Unit. Officers responded to the scene after police received calls of a shooting victim walking around on Broadway and Carroll Street.
The victim was rushed to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. The victim is in stable condition at the hospital, Murray said.
The investigation is continuing at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Christopher Ravellese or Prosecutor’s Detective Michael Boone of the Ceasefire Unit at 973-321-1342.
