A second package filled with 10 pounds worth of suspected marijuana shipped from California and destined for Paterson was seized by Fairfield police on Tuesday, according to police at the Essex County town.
Deputy Chief Anthony Manna said authorities seized the package from a township Federal Express (FedEx) facility today. “It is obvious that we have disrupted, to some extent, a supply line of marijuana into New Jersey,” Manna said in a statement. “The investigation is ongoing and no further details will be released.”
This is the second time in less than 30 days that police seized a marijuana shipment from California to Paterson. A similar incident occurred at the facility on March 26 when a manager uncovered a package that was filled with marijuana with estimated street value of $30,000, police said.
“The investigation is ongoing and no further details will be released,” Manna said.
