Passaic City man wounded in afternoon shooting in Paterson

A Passaic City man was wounded in a shooting in Paterson late Tuesday afternoon, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The victim, 23-year-old, was struck by gunfire on Summer Street and Broadway at around 4:50 p.m. He arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.

Police said the victim’s injuries are not fatal.

The Passaic City man is the second person shot in Paterson in the past 12 hours. Another victim was shot a block away on Hamilton Avenue and Summer Street at around 3:54 a.m.

Both shootings are under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Paterson Police Ceasefire Unit at 973-321-1342.

      They do that now only they don't call it stop and frisk now that just come up with anything that fits the situation to search you. Don't you notice every single time you read an article in this newspaper and the cops find a gun or drugs in the car they say they smelled a strong smell of ???? ( come on guess of what ?). That's right….. MARIJUANA. And if your walking they will say they saw bulge in your pocket of waist looked like a gun or my personal favorite you fit the description of someone who attempted to rob someone or broke into a car.. Believe me they have their own ready made version of stop and frisk they always have not to mention that stop and frisk was in New York never here in Jersey. Paterson cops are lazy they only show up for the major crimes they don't understand that the major crimes are directly linked to quality of life crimes because that's how it all starts. How do you think Rudy Giuliani cleaned up New York City ? All he really did was focus on quality of life crimes and he cleaned up the street no more people hanging out no more prostitution on the street and from there the big crimes went down. NYC cops got their slogan and Paterson Police slogannis laxy corrupt and over paid
