Ex-school board member endorses McKoy for Paterson mayor

letter-to-editor-hq

Over the course of the next few weeks Paterson voters will be inundated with campaign literature, propaganda, commercials and the like from various candidates seeking to lead the city.

I want to put my pick for mayor out there now before it all begins.

Before I begin, I’d like to lay a foundation. Let us be quick to note that the Office of Mayor is not to be given to a novice, a spectator, or an overzealous onlooker. The purpose of holding this seat should not be about admiring the salary or the prestige or the glamour associated with being in the seat.

The person elected to this office must be one who has survived, who has endured, who has been proven, who has stood the test of time.

In my opinion, William Bill McKoy is that man. He served the residents of Paterson for many years with dignity and respect. He doesn’t use a lot of flashy words or innuendos but when he speaks his words echo sound right reasoning.

Say what you will about Bill but you can’t deny that he is a solid candidate with sound experience and proven leadership. At any time, anyone can find anything they choose to bash any candidate in the race. I’m not going to do that. To those who are running, good luck. But I’m with Bill.

To me, he’s the most qualified candidate of them all. I’m not swayed by the naysayers. On May 8, 2018, let’s choose sound experience and proven leadership over popularity. It’s time to save Paterson, for real.
