Six people are running for three up for grabs Paterson school board seats in November.
Candidates are:
- Herman Irving
- Kenneth Simmons
- Shanikwa Lemon
- Dania Martinez
- Jonathan Hodges
- And Joel D. Ramirez.
Simmons, Hodges, and Ramirez are incumbent Board of Education members.
Irving, a firefighter, is the brother of former school board member Christopher Irving. Irving’s sister is the municipal law director.
Irving and Simmons are running as a “bracket.” Their slogan is “Paterson Children First.”
Martinez, an employee at a Hudson County charter school, came close to winning a seat last year.
The school board election is slated for November 3.
