Paterson Fireworks Extravaganza set for Saturday

The annual Paterson Fireworks Extravaganza with rides, magic shows, and roaming children’s characters is set for Saturday, July 6th, 2013.

The event which is in its 9th year will began at 12pm and last until 10pm with fireworks going up at around 8:30pm in downtown Paterson. The fire work extravaganza could easily be viewed by visitors standing near Main and Ward Streets, according to Sheri Ferreira, director of Downtown Paterson Special Improvement District, an organization that looks out for downtown businesses.

The extravaganza will include amusement rides, inflatables, live music from bands, face painting, and a magic show. “Downtown Paterson knows how to throw a good party and we invite everyone to come, experience our vibrant Downtown and bring the whole family,” says Ms Ferreira.

Families will be able to use shopping receipts from local downtown businesses to acquire wrist bands that will grant them and their children unlimited rides; those without a receipt will be charged a small $5 fee for the trinket. The event is otherwise completely free for families.

Those who sponsored the event includes the local businesses operating out of downtown Paterson and the city of Paterson.
