Sheriff: Paterson prostitution sweep nets 14 arrests


Authorities arrested 14 people on prostitution charges on Thursday, according to Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik.

Undercover officers targeted Market Street from East 22nd Street to East 31st Street and Van Houten Street from East 18th Street to Straight Street from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. arresting 13 women and 1 man, authorities said.

All 14 have been charged with loitering for the purpose of engaging in prostitution. Authorities said the sweep was a response to numerous complaints from residents about prostitution on Market Street and Van Houten Street.

10)- Shirley Travis Parham (58) Paterson
11)- Leslie Wasserman (42) Lincoln Park
12)- Gina Formoso (43) Wayne
13)- Sandy Rodriguez (40) Paterson
14)- Kelly Luterzo (30) Hackensack.
