Castro defends himself against allegation of distributing racist flyer

letter-to-editor-hq

I am writing this in response to an article that was distributed by the Paterson Times. In this article, it was alleged that I placed an evil, despicable, divisive flyer in voter’s mailbox a few weeks back.

I have been, and will continue, to denounce these flyers.

Those that know me know that I would not commit such a despicable act. For those who do not know me, I am a family man and a community servant.

I have been a community servant for over 15 years. I am family man married to my wife, Shenna Castro. We share 4 children who are of African-American and Caribbean descent. Distributing garbage like this would be disrespectful to my wife, my children, our family, and those who I have serviced in this community.

Whoever did commit this heinous act need to understand that those in the public light also have a private life. Within this life may be a family with young children. I call on the authorities to investigate this crime and bring the criminal to justice. In closing, I want to say that I am a Patersonian like you. I urge you to look at the facts and find who and where the accusations are coming from.

I attended school here, got married here, and had my children here. I have and will continue to raise my family in Paterson and fight for your and my children’s future.
