Eudys-Santios-Toribio

An East Orange man has been arrested by the New Jersey State Police Fugitive Unit and the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force for his alleged role in a New Year’s Day shooting in Paterson, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Eudys T. Santios-Toribio, 23, of East Orange, was arrested on April 18. He has been charged with second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree aggravated assault, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Santios-Toribio is accused of shooting a 25-year-old Prospect Park woman in the area of Market and East 33rd streets in Paterson on January 1. She sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound, police said.

Authorities determined Santios-Toribio was responsible for the shooting after their investigation into the incident.

Santios-Toribio could face decades in prison if convicted of the charges.
