City Pays $250,000 In Settlements

In 2010, the city of Paterson laid off a large number of teachers, among them were those who served the city for well over 40 years. Fundraising Plans for Hinchliffe Stadium

The National Historic Trust for Historic Preservation is going ahead with it’s plan to restore the broken down Hinchliffe Stadium. Fundraising efforts are on it’s way with the opening of a Hinchliffe Stadium website and a state grant of $500,000. Nonetheless, officials say renovation of the run down stadium may cost $10-$15 million. This was reported by a lesser known newspaper.

School #6 one of Paterson’s worst performing school is being attempted to be reformed. If the school doesn’t improve it’s standardized test scores New Jersey Department of Education warns it’ll be shut down or a private company would take over.

Patersonians Outrage Over Taxes Causes Another Property Revaluation

Paterson only having undergone one property evaluation in the last three decades, municipal officials decided it’s time for another one. Home owners are paying inflated property taxes even though the house market has plummeted. However, by no means does this mean lower taxes for everyone says Councilman Kenneth Morris.
